Anna Andreu is a luthier trained at the Cremona school with maestro Massimo Negroni between 2001 and 2005 and musicologist.
At the end of 2005 she returned to Sant Cugat del Vallès (Catalonia) and opened his own workshop dedicated to construction and repairing of modern and historical instruments. At the same time, she carries out continuous training stays in other workshops such as Liutarte (Naples, 2003), Luca Gallo (Cremona, 2004-2005 and 2013), Antoine Laulhère et Giovanna Chittò (Paris, 2008), Filippo Fasser (Brescia, 2010), and Francisco Pecchia (Barcelona, 2016-2017).
She has a degree in musicology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and is collaborating with the Museu de la Música de Barcelona since 2011. She is also the stringed instruments technician at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) since 2006 and teaches Organology and Musical Iconography in the Musicology Degree of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 2022.
She belongs to the Col·lectiu Música Antiga Sant Cugat, an organization of musicians, musicologists and luthiers that, among other activities, has been organizing the “CONTRATEMPS, músiques històriques, ara!” festival since 2019.
Gerard Díaz was introduced to archeterie in Cremona (Italy) with maestri Julia Schanzenbach and Paolo Pamiro (2003-2005).
In 2005 he settle in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Catalonia) forming the Artesans Luthiers workshop with Anna Andreu. At the same time, he continues training with stages in other workshops as Dirk Loescher (Barcelona, 2005-2006), Pierre Grunberger (Paris, 2009) and Paul Sadka (Truro, UK, 2010 and 2012).
He works on the maintenance and repair of all types of bows in his own workshop, and he collaborates with the Vidal i Roca workshop in Barcelona once per week, and the Parc d’Instruments at ESMUC.
He is a founding member of the Col·lectiu de Música Antiga Sant Cugat (and Contratemps festival) and maintains a constant activity as a creator of musical and poetic projects as LA COMPANYIA MINIMíssimA. In 2025 he completes a Master’s Degree in Music as an Interdisciplinary Art from the UB, focusing his work on Baschet sound structures. After that, he has occasionally taught Sound Art in the Fine Arts Degree at the University of Barcelona (2026).
